The energyspeedometer is paired, but says waiting for connection.
Sometimes the energyspeedometer can take more than 20 minutes to connect to wifi. Therefore, after pairing, let the device start working to connect. Leave it for 30 minutes and check if data is coming.
If still no data on the screen, disconnect the power, wait a minute and turn the energyspeedometer back on. Now it should try to connect to wifi and then start receiving data from you.
Restart the energyspeedometer, be patient and wait for it to fully boot up, and try to pair your device again. Also check if you have downloaded the latest version of the app.
Try to re-pair your device. Make sure you insert your network name correctly. It is important that you type it exactly as it appears on your network list, as it is case sensitive.
Every time you restart your device, the energyspeedometer checks for new firmware/updates. If there are new versions available, the device will download and install them. This may take some time and you will not be able to use the energy meter while this is happening. Please be patient and allow the updates to take place. This can take from 2-15 minutes.
This problem is the same as the one above. It could be an update or a hard reboot of the device.
Device not found
If you get the error message "Device not found", there may be a couple of things you might want to check.
- Is your smartphone's bluetooth on?
- Are you standing close to your energy pedometer?
- Is your energy pedometer switched on and fully powered up?
- Try turning Bluetooth on and off on your phone, and also restart your device by unplugging the power cord, waiting 30 seconds and turning the power back on. Then try to pair again.
- If none of the above points solve the problem, please contact the shop you bought the device from.
Cannot find WiFi/SSID
The Energyspeedometer is only compatible with a 2.4 GHz WiFi home network. It will not connect to a 5g home network. Please make sure you are trying to connect to the 2.4GHz network. If the error still persists, reset the Wifi router and try again.
Another problem could be that you have typed the wrong WiFi network during the pairing of the device. Since the WIFI network name is case sensitive, it is very important that you insert the network name exactly as it appears under the WiFI network list.
I do not have a HAN device
No, the energy meter does not work without a HAN device/pulse reader. A HAN device/pulse reader is a device that you connect to your smart meter. Your smart meter has a HAN port where you can connect the HAN device. Right now we have integration for two HAN devices. Tibber Pulse and NXTEnergy. You must have one of these devices to receive data to your energy meter. These devices can be purchased at www.tibber.com Elkjøp, Clas Ohlsen and Skousen.

Paring
First of all, you need to download the app on your phone. You can find it on Google Play or the Appstore, depending on your phone. The app is called Energyspeedometer.
Once the app is downloaded, you first need to create a profile. Enter your phone number, email and desired password, then verify yourself with the SMS code you receive. Once that is done, you are ready to add your location. That is, where the EnergySpeedometer will collect data from.
Prior to the next step, you must have connected your heart rate monitor to the HAN port in the fuse box and let it synchronize for about 10 minutes.
1. Unpack your EnergySpeedometer and connect it to power where you want it to be. When the EnergySpeedometer is turned on, it will download the necessary information and eventually be ready to connect to WiFi. Here you may get a message saying "Wifi connection error" but it should now be ready to connect to your Wifi.
2. Go to the home page of the Energyspeedometer app and select Energyspeedometers
3. Tap Add new Energyspeedometer.
4. Press Pair device
5. Select the Wifi that the device will connect to and enter the password.
6. Tap Next. Stay close to the EnergySpeedometer and allow the app to communicate with the EnergySpeedometer. Once this is done you will see the "Pairing successful" screen.
The time and date on your Energyspeedometer should now be up to date. This means that you are now connected to Wifi.
7. After the pairing is successful, press Next. Here you can name your Energyspeedometer (e.g. home, cabin, kitchen, second floor, etc.) You also need to select the location where the Energyspeedometer will collect data from. Select the location you added in the first step and press Save.
After completing this step, it may take up to 1-2 minutes for the Energyspeedometer to start displaying data.
It is very important that you select the location before pressing save. Otherwise the EnergySpeedometer will not display any data!
Sometimes error messages may occur. For example "No device found", "Wifi connection error", Lost connection..., the EnergySpeedometer screen goes black, the EnergySpeedometer hangs on the EnergySpeedometer logo.
Be patient (30 sec-60sec) and let the energyspeedometer synchronize, or check for the latest updates. There may be error messages, but this is nothing to worry about. If your Energyspeedometer hangs on an error message for longer than 5 minutes, try unplugging it, waiting 10 seconds and plugging it back in.
Explanation of the screen:
1. Make sure you have a HAN port in the Smart Meter and that the port is open.
You can check this on your electricity network provider's website if your gate is open. If the gate is not open, you can easily open it in the same website.
2. Connect your heart rate monitor, (Tibber Pulse or NXT Energy) and wait about 10 minutes for it to synchronize.
3. Download and install the EnergySpeedometer app on your smartphone via Google Play or the App Store.
4. Create a user account in the app.
5. Start by creating a location by tapping on "Add location".
6. Select your HAN device (Integration for multiple HAN devices will be added)
7. If you have the NXTenergy pulse, select it and enter the smart meter number (found on the smart meter) and the serial number of the HAN device, found on the back of the NXTenergy pulse meter.
8. If you have Tibber Pulse, select it and enter your Tibber Pulse username and password (which is the same as your Tibber app username).
9. Give name to your location (e.g. Home, Cabin etc.). Find your municipality to get the spot price (e.g. Oslo, Stavanger etc.) Then scroll down and press Save location.
If you have done this correctly, the app will prepare to receive data from the smart meter/electricity cabinet. This can take anywhere from 2-10 minutes. You will see "Image 1", where you can tap on the location and see real-time data from the smart meter inside the app "Image 2".
